I am looking into replacing my 17" CRT with a nice new 19” LCD, I have read a few articles about what to look for and so forth and was wondering if you guys can help me further.

The two monitors that I am looking at are the Hyundai ImageQuest B91D 19" 4ms and the AL1916WS 19" Widescreen.

Has any one used either of them, and are they a good monitor for watching movies on and playing games on?

If you know of a better monitor then please link me up.

Thanks

I take it you are a gamer. Are you located in Europe? I have heard good things about Samsung.

I'm using the AL1916ASD which is very similar but has a regular 1280x1024 screen. Works very well with games and movies. No smearing or delay that I can see. I also use it for digital photography and it matches my Epson photo printer very well. Also use it with a PlayStation 2 via the video in on the video card. It's essential to use the DVI socket however, so you need a suitable video card. I'm using the ATI All-In-Wonder 9800Pro. Works OK with VGA but not nearly as good as DVI.

One thing worth making note of is that there are some specs used with LCD displays that are not standardized. For instance, response time. The only thing you can surmise for sure is with a product line certain specs should be relativly better or worse. The 4ms from on vendor could be the same as the 8ms from another. Both should be good though. Pixel warranty is very important. There seem to be two sets of warranties. Manufacturer and reseller. Read the stated pixel warranty before buying.
The reason I asked about gaming is that the 16:9 ratio may not be the best choice for general computing. One other thing to watch for when purchasing LCDs is if the necessary cables are included.
