Looking for a laptop for a Client under $2000

Specs: Windows 7 64 home or pro, I7 / 8gigs +
Whats the best laptop PC under $2000? Multitasking, Video games, Multimedia, 10 pounds or under. 5 year warranty! For someone just wants the beast for future proofing. Video games etc. Going to a father who doesn't know much about technology so it also has to be easy to use.

Buy the best for $1000 then buy another better one for the other $1000 in 2-3 years. Nothing is futureproof. Warranty would be a waste.

"Nothing is futureproof."

Amen to that.

The point of future proofing was to be advanced enough to not be completely obsolete for at least 3 years. I'd like something with a 5 year warranty, if such a beast exists. I am a high end gaming system builder, and am just asking for model references while I do my own research. I just want your professional opinions, not assumptions, or uneducated guesses. I haven't looked at laptops in a while hence me posting this inquiry, and Warranty's are not a waste tyvm! I use them more than you think in my field.

Take a look at the Acer 7551G (not the 7551)

Would think for a 5 year warranty, you would have to pay an extension fee.

Often this must be opted for, fairly quickly after purchase. However, this should be investigated, as here in the UK, the retailer will try to sell you this at the time of purchase and it may not be as good a price as that of the manufacturer.

Again with Laptops, the better repairer is most likely the manufacturer.

On ease of use, it is rather down to the operating system, which presumably will be Windows 7.

Please advise back what you find/think.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

Putting aside the gaming part - (depends on what sort of games he wants to play) don't forget Macs - far more future-proofed, excellent warranty/backup and if he's never used a PC before then it's just as easy to get used to.
