I was wondering how long do most prices of hardware drop down. I was looking at the gtx and it is still $500, same with the fx-57, still $1000. Do pc prices drop once new hardware comes out, let's say a new proccesor.

Yeah, generally prices drop on the old stuff when new stuff comes out. But there's no set rule. If it drops and by how much will depend on the marketplace--how much people are willing to pay.
I just wish I'd kept my '66 mustang convertible.
