Logitech Mouse Problem

CPU/Ram: P3 1 GhZ/256 RAM

hi guys,

i'm having a mousewheel problem on my logitech mouse. the mouse works find, the issue is with the WHEEL function. most of of the time it doesn't work, and when it does work it works for like 3 seconds. any suggestions on how to fix this?
