locked out via bios

Specs: Windows XP, 256 mb
i can turn on my laptop[sony viao vgns460] i git the viao screen. i push f2 and it brings me to a screen that ask for a password ive tried entering a p/w 3 times and there is no system disabled number.also have tried no code at all same result. i disassembled the laptop and disconnected the battery inside.found no pins to short or whatever.L/T was working fine someone i know tried to do a O/S not sure what happened but now my L/T is locked and i dont know enuff about this to look the info up on line.......LOST

Contact SONY, it's the only way. Hopefully you can prove legal ownership of the laptop. On a side note, I strongly suggest you add more RAM, 256MB isn't nearly enough these days. 1GB should be considered the minimum for reasonably good performance with XP.
