I an Asus A7V that locks up during the shut down sequence. This pc was given to me without a story of it's condition or history, So I'm in the dark on that. I started over with this pc as I usually do, by formatting and installing an OS. First, I installed 98se and I noticed that there was a shut down problem. I looked in BIOS but did not see much for power options except for Min, Max, and User Define. Also, Under 98se MSCONFIG "Disable Fast Shut down" is enabled by default. I formated again, and tried XP this time, but the problem is still there. I noticed that in XP's power options it does NOT show the usuall "APM" tab that I expected to see.
I'm out of ideas. What can I try to get this mobo to shut down?
