I an Asus A7V that locks up during the shut down sequence. This pc was given to me without a story of it's condition or history, So I'm in the dark on that. I started over with this pc as I usually do, by formatting and installing an OS. First, I installed 98se and I noticed that there was a shut down problem. I looked in BIOS but did not see much for power options except for Min, Max, and User Define. Also, Under 98se MSCONFIG "Disable Fast Shut down" is enabled by default. I formated again, and tried XP this time, but the problem is still there. I noticed that in XP's power options it does NOT show the usuall "APM" tab that I expected to see. I'm out of ideas. What can I try to get this mobo to shut down? Thanks a million!

Did you enabled APM in BIOS?? It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice...

Try to look and see what those MIN, MAX and User Define do, coz i have no idea.. :) Maybe you need to set it on User Define... You should try to get help from the mobo's manufacturer user suport.
