Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
how do i get the total Load/unload Cycle Count (c1) on my wd caviar hard drive. is there a program that shows this value for the life of the hard drive? i ask since there have been issues with this hard drive since it happens every 8 seconds if data is not being wrote.

the wd data lifeguard tools do not give a lifetime total and the crystaldiskinfo shows current 194 worst 194 threshold 0. it also gives a raw value.

i am using windows 7 32 bit

If it's part of the SMART data, any generic hard drive diagnostic software that can show SMART data should show it. The manufacturer's own software all have various issues so I never use them. I use the generic HDAT2 for testing all my hard drives regardless of make: http://www.hdat2.com/

If you've got several different brands of drive like I do, using a generic diagnostic software is the obvious best choice.
