I have a cable modem and a linksys router that I've had for a couple of years. All of a sudden it won't connect me to the internet. I know the cable is working because when I connect the cable directly to my computer thru ethernet I can get to the internet. How do I know if the Linksys just isn't working anymore. Someone suggest that I uninstall and reinstall it to see if it would work, but I'm not sure how to do that. I just want to make sure before I go out and buy another router.
with it connected you would logon to it via the gateway ip just like when you set it up. you would then go to the wan interface and see if it has a ip address, gateway and dns servers listed. some even have the ablity to run a test in the wan interface
