I have a Linksys Router, with that darned NAT firewall. Multiplayer can be at times a disaster, depending on the game. DMZ host is great, let's me get on Bearshare, but limited to one computer. Port Forwarding, Port Triggering, and all these other methods of sneaking around the firewall have gone over my head. Most sites I find have guides for individual game multiplayer. There's about 10 lines where I can take computers out of the firewall. 1 computer and one game, requires 3 lines. I have 5 computers, and at least 10 multiplayer games. In hind sight, I wish I had purchased a switching hub in the first place, but I was unaware. Long before I had NAT, I had just the plain modem, my computer was in threat then, and I don't mind being in that same threat again to have my internet options opened up. The sites I find dodge an easy way to open everything up, because they are trying to emphasize network security. Anyone know a good site, with an honest guide. I have the newest firmware on my Router, its a Linksys BRFS44 or something....the 44 part I am certain of.

Bill .. I am really trying to follow you... Help me please.. are you running a game server? Or just playing multiplayer games online?? And what information do you need to know???????

I am playing online games, and file sharing. Due to the Linkys built in NAT firewall, certain ports are being blocked. I want all the PCs on my network to be able to access ALL ports, and have ALL ports access them. I don't know how to effectively use any of the Port Forwarding options in the Linksys Adminstration Setup. At this time I don't mind having my network security in danger to have these ports open for gaming/file sharing...is there a way to get them open for everyone on my LAN?

I also was mentioning how I want to do some method of forwarding which would solve all game issues, sort of like the DMZ. Instead of fixing individual games...I have too many computers, and too many games to do this.

Also brainstorming...no pro at this by any means, so please, forgive my lack of intelligence. But is there a way I could have a forwarding of the DMZ host? So all LAN computers are in the DMZ?

Suggest that you try the networking forum here, or there is an excellent forum just for Linksys users at:
