aghh, when I started uploading new firmware (1.05) to the lg hl-dt-st gcc 4521b combo drive computer was reset by accident, upload was not finished. And when windows started again, I lose my combo drive. I repeat uploading process again, but I got messages that cd-rom model doesn't match. Even in the BIOS my combo drive was gone. So ,what can I do?

What can you do? Logically speaking, shop for a replacement combo drive. I'm curious - what prompted you to go for the firmware?

You could go to the manufactur's website and see if there may be a solution for this problem but I think you may be out of luck.

I fix it! It's working just before uploading.
so, resolution is this: 1. download je3.exe (it is for diferent drive but who cares!) 2. unpack *.exe (where is a firmware for right combo drive) 3. run (from DOS)in the command line: je3.exe ide.hex 3 /m
watch in your scren, wait aprox. 2 min, and your (and mine) combo drive is flashing some times. Then you must reboot your comp and that's all.
