LG CD-RW issues

i will be buying the same CD-RW as mentioned above ... specifically a 40X write, 12X ReWrite and 40X Read. I want to know if there are any incompatibilities with different media or types of CD-ROMS ... can it write every format available ... like mixed mode etc.
urgent feedback needed as i will be buying tomorrow.

If your CDROM drive is over 5 or 6 years old you may have to replace it with a new one. I had to do that. Bought a 56x and is works great with my CD Writer whereas the old one would not read the CD-RW's or CD-R's.
