I have a Lexmark Z32 Jet printer, and I am ready to toss it at the cat (who is also misbehaving)... For some reason when I put the colour cartridge inside the printer, I get the Power light and Paper Feed light blinking.
According to the manual, this means "The print cartridge carrier has stalled." All it says to do is to check the screen for any error messages (there are none), and then
1) Turn the printer Off.
2) Wait a few seconds adn turn the printer back On.Naturally this made NO difference whatsoever (who writes these manuals, anyhow?)
The cartridge carriage works fine when the black is in either socket, as long as the colour cartridge is out. The colour cartridge in either socket makes the error lights blink. This seems to mean that the cartridge is faulty...(incidentally, when I covered the connectors at the back of the cartridge with a piece of paper, no more error was detected... I suppose since no connection is made).
Thing is, it worked fine before (I took it out to refill it, and had no trouble opening it or refilling it... not the first time for refills either). I didn't do anything to the connectors, didn't leak ink, didn't overfill... all went according to plan!
Well, unless there is something I missed (which someone here will tell me I hope), I guess that means I have to shell out the $50 some bucks for a new cartridge, AND more refill, since this full one is toast???
I think I'll go yowl with the cat.
Genevieve

Ink cartridges aren't designed to work being refilled more than a few times. If you've been printing with the cartridge until it runs completely out of ink chances are that you've burnt out the ink nozzles in the print head. It looks like you'll be shelling out for another ink cartridge.
