Lexmark X1150 installing problem

Specs: Windows XP, pentium 4 2.8 HT and 512

Hi, When I am installing my Lexmark X1150 it keeps saying that I don't have my printer connected to my computer. I kow that I am sopposed to cancel when it says new hardware found. When I put in the disk it gave me with the printer, it just keeps telling me that it is not connected to my computer. Any1 know the problem here?

let winxp install its drivers, then go and install the cd it came with
