lexmark printer x6170 printer will not scan and print

Lexmark printer x6170, printer will not scan and print. It is not connected to a computer. The scanner will go across the page and it will pull the paper through and the ink cartridges will go back and forth and it will say printing but the page comes out blank.

Can't help with scanner, but when the printer goes through all the correct motions with no error messages, but noting is printed, it usually means a severe ink-blockage of all colours inside the printer.

The blockage is caused by ink drying up because it hasn't been used for a while.
Remove all the cartridges and put a few drops of alcohol-based solvent in each hole where the cartridges sit. Leave overnight. Replace cartridges the next day and run the cleaning cycle a few times in the printer driver.
