Lexmark 2600 Printer Issues

I have bought a Lexmark 2600 printer. I can install the software without any issues. When I am required to connect my usb cable and it can never install. It says something about it can't find it. I get a suggestion to click run and type control printers. When I do I don't see the USB port that it needs me to find. Do you have any ideas as to why I am having this issue? If you need any further info let me know. Thanks

Could be a problem with the USB port. Do other devices work in that one? It's a really simply potential fix but try a different port.
