Good day,

I recently acquired the above-mentioned laptop. The problem that I have with it is, when I plug in the power cord it does nothing, that's with the battery out. But when I put in the battery, the battery light flashes for a few seconds then remains on, the battery indicator light is orange. When I try to put it on with just the battery alone I get nothing at all. Took it apart and put in back together with the same results. Any idea as to what can be the problem with this and how can I get it fixed. Thanks for all your help.

It's possible that the mains adapter is faulty, which means that the battery has not been getting charged up so it is completely flat. And the faulty adapter means also that it cannot provide mains power to run the laptop from the mains.

So you need to establish first if the mains adapter is dead by replacing it with an alternative one, maybe from a different laptop (but check that the output wattage is the same).

It is OK if the alternative charger is of a higher wattage or higher amperage. Voltage and connections have to be exactly right.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
