Comment:

I have a Compaq Pressario SR2170NX with Windows Vista.

My problem is with my mouse.

It's a wireless optiocal 2.0 and my left click is not working. The scroll mouse and right click work just fine.

It was working fine 2 hours ago before I had dinner. Came back and wham the left click is not working.

This is not business related but I couldn't get the check mark out of the box

The left switch has probably quit working. It would probably be cheaper to purchase a new mouse than try to get it repaired.

Aegis's advise is good.

Are you able to try the omuse in another pc, and/or try a different mouse in your Compag?

Possibly the cat caught it while you were away at dinner. :-)

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

Well I found out that the right click is now working as both the left and right click. Any suggestions?

I found the problem but confused as to what happened.

I went into the mouse settings in control panel and put a 'check' in the "switch primary and secondary buttons" box and hit apply.

I then unchecked it and hit apply again now mouse is working normally.

But it keeps happening. Any ideas?

check the battery or batteries are fitted correctly. (remove/re-install as this cleans connections)

have you tried new batteries?

did you try my suggestions above. This process of elimination should identify where the fault lies.

are you switching off the mouse when not in use

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

Brand new batteries and have only the one computer.

I bought a new wireless set anyway...

And yes I did check that the batteries were in correctly, which they were, but I did find a problem. The small wire coil that fits agains the negative end was bent out of place and I couldn't get it straight.
