Specs: Windows 2000
My laptop screen is alternately booting with only vertical lines of color. If I reboot it a dozen or so times, I finally get my normal screen back. Once I get the screen back, it will not revert to the colored lines again, unless I shut it down. Wiggling the hinge does not affect the image. It is either perfect or totally screwed up. This happens during the BIOS screen as well, which seems to preclude any Windows driver issues. I have removed the RAM and re-installed one at a time, to see if one of the sticks was bad. This did not help. Not sure what's going on here. This problem does not happen when I hook up an external monitor to the VGA port.
