Hi,
I know this question isn't really about PCs but since PC monitors are coming closer and closer to TV screens i thought some of you might know...
So i'm going to buy a new TV and found a nice 50" for 3K but in LCD and aswell as Plasma...
So what exactly is the difference bitween LCD and Plasma and which is better..?
Thanks in advance.

Read this. There are many articles on the subject.Keep Smiling
It makes them think you're up to something...

Throw in a couple more (less popular) options like DLP, LCOS and you quickly realize there can be, a side effect to having too much information.....................LOL
I would suggest taking a reconnaissance trip down to your local HDTV store as well. And really take a closer look, at several LCD and Plasma TVs they have available on display and compare the performance, based on the factors linked to by grasshopper from above.
You can then, narrow down your choices to one or two of both types and make your decision based on what type will give you the most pleasing image, connection flexibility, and fits your overall budget expectations.
Oh and BTW - you should watch this short clip too.
Goodluck!

And be aware that within about a year a new laser based technology in screens will be on the market that is supposed to produce far superior picture quality for about 1/2 the current cost of LCD/plasma.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

One opinion is that plasma runs hotter (meaning do not let a paused picture sit to long) I used to install gateway plasma tv's
and they burn in real easy
lcd is alittle more $ but in my eyes it is better for the money
