I'm having trouble getting the onboard vid output to drive a new 17" lcd monitor. The lcd works when mirrored from an older iMac no problem. I can fully boot Win XP and display on a 15" crt, but if I switch to the lcd, the screen stays black. I don't know Windows that well, but all the hints I could find didn't work. All drivers are up to date. The monitor and card are set for 1078 x 768 @ 60 hz, and I've tried other settings to no avail.
Does the video card need to be more robust? Could a pci card fix the problem or does it sound like a software issue? I may try bringing the monitor to work and swap it out with various PCs to see if that helps. Any advice would be very appreciated.
