LCD display has pixel/ connection issue

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, Amd turion 64x2 1.6ghz/ 2 gig ram
So I bought a used HP DV 2120US from ebay from what I thought was a reputable seller (good feed back). Said in description very minor pixelation across bottom of screen. Picture on auction looked like nothing was there. Then i get it in the mail and the whole bottom of the display where the taskbar is located is not viewable. When screen is black looks like a silver box. I had no choice but to put task bar up top. When I am in a web browser it looks like little vertical boxes and they will change color depending what im viewing. Is this a loose connector for the lcd or need a new display? Also I have external lcd hooked up so that eliminates video card issues and if I move the mouse over the problem area on the screen it looks like it goes underneath it.

Heres 3 photos for further assistance:

First 2 are with screen saver set to blank:

Well I took some of the laptop apart, it looks thrown together! The harddrive sits unflush - all the screws are stripped, ribbon cable for top controls broken off. Looks like someone one who didnt know laptops pieced it together and somehow managed to make it work. I was offered money back through ebay with free tracking label. So gunna go with that. They also gave me a generic charger. I had a dv5000 before so luckily that fits so I use that.
