I've got a few questions about laptops, any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Can I hook up a laptop to a WAP phone to access the 'net? Can I hook up a laptop to a desktop PC and transfer files between them? Anyone know any good sites to buy from?!

Yes you can. Depends on the lap top really. Most have modems in them and you can connect it to phone lines. But be careful, most will have cable connections. You can connect them to computers through networking and Ethernet cards.

You can buy dialup mobile pcmcia card modems with a little mobile antenna on the side of them.
Expect to pay through the nose for the service though.

The best WAP phone to connect to the net is Sprint (Sanyo 4900) The phone is $150 and the usb cable is $70. The service is $40/mo for cellular service and unlimited internet at 144Kb/s. Nationwide service and free long distance.
