I am trying to find a laptop with a 9 pin serial port, so far the only company that sell them dell, but I would like to see if there are other brands..I don't want to install a pcmcia card because they have networking problems, Does anyone know of any other laptop brands out there that have one..

thanks.

Don't limit your laptop choices for an obsolete port. There is another solution - a USB Serial Adapter.

It will attach any serial device to your laptops usb port. A search of Google will give you many places to buy one from.

Yes, serial ports are obsolete and very slow. Look for other options.
