I have a IBM Thinkpad T41 laptop now and I really like the square screen. I can't seem to find any laptops anymore that have a standard screen and are all widescreen. Why no choice laptop makers. I actually ordered a new thinkpad last week and I hated the widescreen so much I sent it back to lenovo. I'll just have to hold on to the slow worn out t41 for now. Anyone know of any out there? Could I possibly change the motherboard out in the T41 and upgrade the components and keep the 4:3 screen?

Its possible to force it to be 4:3. I use Nvidia's "keep aspect ratio" option and then set my resolution to a 4:3 one, then viola, no sides.

That's assuming your new latop has a Nvidia graphics card in it, but im sure there are other programs that will do the same thing.

Ill post if I find any.
