Int Dvd-Cdrw combo
Pcmcia wirless network cardWhen i play Avi Films on the laptop, nearly everytime the laptop crashes sometimes blue screen but most of the time it just freezes and restarts, it especially happens if i skip through the video.
This is getting annoying as i want to watch films when i am at work.
The codecs that are on the computer are :
Divx 5.2.1 Codec
iccvid.dll
Indeo video 5.10
ir32_32.dll
ir41_32.ax
iyuv_32.dll

More ram would help.
Less resource using player, I would go into programs, windows media folder and get the icon for mplayer2, send to desktop. Use that.
Would be easier for machine to play vids off harddrive, not rom.
Shut down any programs not needed for video.
Run an avi thru VirtualDub and see what it says. Check to see if dub says any about timestamps etc, May be why the film takes so long, if there missing, then the player has to count eah frame till it gets to spot slider is sending tom or just a slow machine. Any updates missing?
And get back to work, sheez.

if the blue screen has error messages on, and the messages are the same each time, try typing the codes into google and see what it finds. I have found solutions that way sometimes.
