Specs: Windows XP
I have a 2005 IBM Thinkpad T42. The system stopped booting a couple of days back. When I power on the laptop, the system gets started i.e. the fan is running, and there's general noise from the machine indicating that it is on. Also the battery and power on indicator turn green. However, there's absolutely nothing appearing on the screen. No error messages, no booting screens or thinkpad screens or no instructions. The caps, scroll lock, wifi, etc lights remain off. Is there a way out?

The immediate suspect is the screen itself, so I would start by
attaching an external monitor to the vga port & see if anything
appears on that - you should at least get the splash screen if the
fans etc. start up.

Thanks for the reply. I tried attaching a hp monitor directly to the laptop, but it didn't work. I tried the same thru my docking station too, but the result was the same.
