Laptop won't turn on, at all.

Specs: Windows XP
Started running hot a couple days ago and I was going to clean the fan assembly but didn't get a chance. Always ran excellent. Anyway worked fine when last used, it was shut down and now won't power on at all. Nothing no lights, fan nothing. Tried 2 different power adapters and it has a new battery. Won't do anything. Is there a fusible link on these? I had it completely disassembled and could find no fuse. It has 17.9 vdc to the power switch. Could the switch be bad? If so can it be jumped to test. I did pull a wad of fuzz out of the fan so it probably overheated.

This may be tooo simple to even consider but it has worked before, unless your AC Power LED is NOT lit with the adapter Plugged in to the AC.

Check the Power Switch lock. It may be only a little tab above or below the switch. It's relatively easy to engage the lock without knowing it.

Still, though, you should see the AC charge indicator LCD on the front panel.

Pull the battery and try with AC adapter only. Clean the Battery contacts on LT and Battery.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
