This Laptop only goes as far as the Gateway Logo and then it shuts down again. A brand new AC Adapter did not help, same thing.
Does it have a CMOS Battery or does it use the main Battery for the BIOS? What if the main Battery should be faulty, would it act like that? Thanks.

It has a CMOS battery but, first can you
remove and reseat the hard drive and memory?

Sometimes memory modules,or the hard drive lose firm connections using a mobile computer.
