first my laptop wouldn't go on unless I took the dead battery out. then it wouldn't power up sometimes the green light goes on when you plug in the cord but goes off when you hit the power button. I had to mess with it to go on & finally got it back on & left on for a couple months. Well, it got turned off & I can't get it back on, again the green light goes on but when I hit the power botton it goes off I tryed a different cord on another laptop & used the other cord from the other laptop, no change I have the laptop all apart & could use some help

Pull out the battery, plug it in and try powering it up. Newer laptops don't charge the battery until it's down to about 95% charge at least. You might have a dead battery.

"I tryed a different cord on another laptop & used the other cord from the other laptop, no change" power adaptors from different laptops have different voltages & amps. they are not interchangeable and, may damage the laptops. read the output volts and amp on the adapator for the evo and, the other adaptor you tried. then post what the outputs of both are.

Check the connector that the AC cord plugs into. If it wiggles, it probably has broken loose from the motherboard.

Check your laptop power card if there is any built onboard.
The power management on your PC seems a problem.
