i recently bought an asus eeePC and suddenly the battery would not charge past 50%. I tried running the battery down and now won't charge at all. I originally thought it was a bad battery, so bought a new one, and the same thing happened. I'm now pretty sure the netbook is just not charging the battery. What can i do now besides buy a new unit?

You should definitely contact Asus about this and see what they advise you to do, as they may help you out with a new one. Believe me, it's worth contacting the manufacturer sometimes.

is it possible it's the power cable to the laptop that is affected. Check to see if there is a light on it indicating that it's charging. Could be a short in it. But i would contact support if it's under warranty.
