I have a Dell Inspiron 3800 which won't boot up. I press the power button and the Hard Drive Light comes on as green and is constant but I don't hear it. Also the Power Light comes on but nothing happends the video display doesnt turn on. I came to the conclusion that my battery is dead but shouldn't it still work with just the ac adapter. Also when the I plug in the adapter the power light won't come on but if i put in the battery it will.

Anyone have any idea's on whats wrong?

I took out the hard drive and memory to see if it was that and still the same thing.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the lights for the num lock caps lock and scroll lock blink 9 times and then the computer shuts it self off.
