Laptop VGA port no longer working properly

I was hoping someone could offer an opinion. I used to connect a VGA cable to my laptop's VGA-output port quite often and run it through my TV. I hadn't done so in a while, but last week I went to hook up the cable and all was fine, the picture displayed as it always does. Then after literally about 20 seconds, the picture then suddenly had a yellowish tint to it. I initially thought the cable must be loose, but moving it/tightening it had no effect. So I thought the cable must be knackered as I hadn't used it in a while, so I went and got a new one.

Same problem. I then thought is it my TV or the laptop? I tried the cable on another laptop with my TV though and it worked perfectly, so it's the laptop it seems! What could have gone wrong???

The connector is bad on the laptop maybe. I would rather doubt that the software failed to cause this. It could be the video chip too.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
