This morning my boyfriend knocked my laptop over and accidentally unplugged it while in sleep mode. I had 3 USB devices plugged in at the time (using a 4 way USB splitter - included were 2 jump drives and my optical mouse). After restarting the computer, I found that it would not recognize anything plugged into the USB port (however, if I plugged in the splitter and then plugged the mouse into the splitter, the mouse light would come on). It recognized one of the jump drives as being plugged in, but did not recognize any of the content.
Does anyone know how to either fix this or should I just scrap the laptop? It has a lot of programs and information on it I would like to keep, but I have no idea how to salvage that stuff if the USB doesn't work (no burner on it).
