Laptop Speakers not working

OS: Windows XP Home Edition
CPU/Ram: Intel Celeron 300MB used

MY laptop speakers (internal ones) have broken and no sound is comeing out. I have chekced to see if its muted which its not. It also doesnt work when i use headphones either. I have a Toshiba A30 laptop with Intel Celeron. The most sound i can get out is cracks and pops with the volume high and very bassy music....Please help me!

I dont know what im sposed to write here!

Nasty! Try unistaling and then reinstaling sound drivers. If that doesn't work it's probably a hardware issue ;(

Is your A30 under warranty? If it is, get it in to the nearest ASP (authorized service provider). If not, and reinstalling the drivers doesn't fix it, you'll likely have to take it in anyhow.

Can you guys help me at all on how to uninstall and reinstall the drivers with out screwing up my comp- ive got a relativley limited PC knowledge...

in control panel choose system, then choose hardware tab, then device manager. in there you should find drivers listed under "sound video and game". if you see an astericks there is a driver problem. remove the device and reboot. windows will see the missing driver and attempt to reinstall driver. you must have the proper driver from the manufacturer's website. (they may even have setup instructions)

I seem to have the same problem, i was listening to music with my headphones on and i droped my laptop, now my speakers wont work but i can hear sound if i plug in my headphones, diminished but i can hear it, anyone got any ideas?
