Dell Inspiron 1150 Notebook
Background:
Recently I was playing around with modifying a boombox to play music from an mp3 player. Basically, I attached a headphone plug to the inputs from the tuner. That way the volume control could still work.Situation:
At one point, I tried using the setup with my laptop. First, the speakers stopped working. After a while, no sound came out of the headphone jacks. So now, there is no sound output at all. My guess is a surge from the boombox and ruining something... Troubleshooting the hardware (soundcard, etc) through the wizard did not seem to find any problems.Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

If you fried the amplifier on the motherboard there isn't much you can do but replace the motherboard
