Hello everyone!

Okay, this has been going on for some time. The problem goes like this:

1) Every once in a while, all pixels with a certain shade of white display as pink. I move the LCD around (it's a laptop) and it goes away.

2) Sometimes I hear the device-plug-in sound and see the little "This device can perform faster" message. When I go to My Computer to check on the camera which is on top of the LCD, it treats it as a different device and all my pictures are gone. When I restart, all my pictures come back.

3) The first two were for WinXP. This one also happens under Vista: instead of the camera being re-plugged, it crashes and BSOD's. I disabled the camera under Device Manager and I have seen no more BSOD's since then.

I would bet the cable that joins the monitor with the mobo is faulty... I can mess with desktops, but laptops are all different... I Googled for a guide on Mayhem disassembly, but found nothing, probably since it's not that popular.

Any suggestions, besides taking it to a repair center? Thanks!

If I connect my microwave to my PC, will I be able to download food? I posted a question, haha

If the laptop is under warranty I suggest you get it in for repair. Wheather or not it is under warranty I suggest you backup all personal files before proceeding further. If you have not worked on a laptop before I think it would be better to have a professional look at it. Get an evaluation for a fixed price from an authorized repair shop. Then you can decide if you want to proceed further.

I have seen posts here before where people have attempted to repair their Laptops and afterward couldn't get them to run at all.
