Laptop Screen turns to white

My friend ask my help regarding her compaq laptop. I was been repair in some service center and the LCD screen was already changed with a 2nd hand since they can not see a brand new for their laptop LCD screen. after a couple of months the screen turns to white after how many minutes of use. I try to plug my CRT monitor ti its vga post from her laptop and it display but in her laptop LCD screen is white. Can i do something to help my friend? Or is her laptop LCD screen already damage and need a new one? help me please
