Recently my laptop screen has not been turning on. I noticed this after I installed iTunes update then I reboot and my screen wouldn't come on. I hooked my laptop up to a monitor and everything was working fine. I turned off my computer for about 20 minutes with the battery unplugged and unpowered and when I turn it on everything was fine. I though it was fixed, but the screen was black again last night. Is my screen going out?

Just a little update, the screen won't turn on everytime I reboot. I can still go into stand by and close the lid and everything and it will work fine. It only goes black when I completely reboot. To get the screen to come back on, I have to unplug the battery and power cable to let it discharge and then it will work.

Either your backlight or inverter is going out, or the electronics that controls the LCD is going bad.
