Laptop screen showing vert/hor colored lines

June 17, 2010 at 10:13:19
Specs: Windows XP

Hi
On my Laptop I see vertical and horizontal
colored lines. I used external projector to see if
it is s/w or video card issue. I could see clear
on projector.
Now is it problem with screen or wiring or (I
see some posts) for inverter.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks alot for sending this link. I see example 2 & 7 are very
similar to my situation where external monitor works , so
most probably it is problem with LCD screen. I will need to
buy new screen then. Are there any links I can see for how to
change it on my own. I looked in youtube but it showed for
Dell laptop which had some screws on screen, but I dont see
any screws on this screen. or probably they are hidden. I will
most probably look on ebay for its screen. Please let me
know if anybody has better idea for San Jose, CA.

Thanks
Raman

... ya there's one here, might be worth checking to make sure all the "contacts" are hooked up before you buy!

... might be handy to post make and model number of the laptop, can't quite make it out with that pic link of yours!

Hi

Thanks again for sending that link. But again on my Laptop I
dont know how to open and replace screen. On internet I see
only demos for dell laptop. On my screen I even dont see any
screws. This one has builtin camera on top of screen panel.

Thanks
