hi everyone. i have a dell latitude c800, and the reason why i posted here is that when the computer is on, there is a line across the lcd screen. sometimes the lower half of the screen will get really bright and then stop refreshing until i change the screens angle. could any of you guys help me solve this problem? id appreciate it a lot if you could. thanks

I had the same problem with my inspiron 7000. I'm afraid the reply i bring is grim. It only got worse. I think what made it worse was that i kept contantly changing the screen angle to get the true colour of the screen. I think it must have owrn away the cable attached to the moitor via the the hinge.
My best suggestion is for you to take it back to dell if you've still got the warranty. If not, try to find the ribbon cable off ebay.
