Friend of mine has a compaq laptop with a screen issue. It's a Presario V2000.
I first asked him to test with a external monitor and it works fine on one.
So on with the problem.
When it boots up the background looks like it's crawling around then when it gets into windows the color is off and screen is kinda fuzzy or blury? Anyhow when you open my computer, IE, or anything with a boarder it's got quite a dark pinkish tint to it.
I tried flexing the screen back and forth but didn't make much of a difference.
I can't tell if it needs a cable or if the screen is dying.
Any suggestions?

You could try the dxdiag in the run box.
That may tell you something.

"tried flexing the screen back and forth but didn't make much of a difference."
That would tell me it's not the flex cable, but the screen.

Ok let me re-fraze that Tried opening and closing the screen back and forth on it's hinges. Like your opening and closing the notebook. Not the actual LCD screen itself.
Dxdiag shows nothing out of the ordinary.
