It is either a faulty screen-backlight or faulty inverter-board.
Hi, Check if the screen flickers in BIOS.
Try connecting external monitor to the laptop in order to isolate the issue. If the external monitor works fine then its a laptop LCD issue. But if the external monitor also face same issues then it could be the issue with laptop graphic card or as said by "phil22" either a faulty screen-backlight or faulty inverter-board.
