Comment:

I have an alienware laptop model 5550. Screen went totally blank months ago so I install a new screen. It remained blank even with new screen except when I connected external monitor to it and then it started working for a few days then screen would remain black again. I installed new inverter board and laptop screen stayed black with nothing on it. Then I connected to external monitor and then both laptop screen started working at same time with external monitor. I shutdown and removed external monitor and for 30 min so far the laptop screen works. I previously tried removing battery and power and holding down power button for few min and then reconnect power and try this for many times since I first encountered the no screen problem and with each time I changed the screen and inverter and no success. Does anyone have an idea why the laptop screen will work when it is combined with external monitor and then work by itself for a few days then not work at all again?
