Specs: Windows XP SP2
So I dropped me computer last night and my power button is having a hard time responding. It does not want to turn the computer on or off. Every now and then it will turn the computer on but that is very rare. Once it is on it works great, infact I'm using right now to post this. I does not seem to be the power supply or the battery. When it's plugged in the charge led shows up but some times it blinks or fades but the computer is getting a charge. I have a docking station for this computer and when I uses no that it has no problems at all, of course I have to use the docking station on off switch. If any one has dealt with this before, I would like to know what was done to correct the issue. I've replaced power jacks and such on a laptop before and soldering is not a problem, just thought I would see if any one could give me some tips as to what they did. Thanks, Paul

"So I dropped me computer last night...."

In that case anything could be damaged. You're probably going to have to take it apart and find out what is damaged.
The Dell site might have the Service manual for it.
