My laptop overheats and I killed the battery because I kept the charger plugged in. WIll my laptop work again after it's cooled off and the charger is still plugged in? Should I get a new battery? I really need the help, please!

The charger should kick off when the battery is full so it can't overcharge. Unplug it and see if it boots.

Unplug the battery and leave the power cord plugged in and see if it boots. Some will some won't. If this works and the heat issue goes away get a new battery. The overcharge protection circuit is actually in the battery. if the heat seems to be in the battery area unplug it and dispose of it properly.
