hi girlfriends laptop keeps over heating it shuts off and then it starts to make beeping sounds and the only way to make it stop it from beeping is to any and all forms of power supply what could I do to try to fixit or what would be the problem?
Get a can of compressed air & give a good blast into the cooling vents...they may simply be dust clogged. You can even try putting your mouth up to it & giving it a good blow. If that doesn't work, the cooling fan may be bad. Do you hear any fan noise?

try using a cool pad to cool it you may hear the fan but it may not be functioning properly
if you are using the laptop on a table try elevating the laptop so one end is off the table
also if you could be specific as to what the beep code is we or you could look the beebcodes up and get a pretty good idea where the problem stems from
