Hello,
My dell inspiron 1501 is not starting. When i
press the power button, only the power led
glows, and it stays as it is and then nothing
happens. The processor led does not glow
even once. The monitor screen stays
absolutely blank. I can hear the sound of the
fan. The laptop is heating up like before. But
nothing appears on the screen. This problem
is coming for the past 5 days. But sometimes
the laptop does start, like once in 100 tries.
And once it starts then it gives no problems.
Also when it starts, it is not like the normal
startup. First the power light glows, then about
15 seconds later, the bootup screen shows. It
is not like the normal cases when the bootup
screen used to immediately appear.

I have changed the RAM also. It is definitely
not a RAM issue.
Please help me.

I also took the laptop to a local technician. He
told me that the BJ chip on the motherboard
has gone faulty. But he did not even open the
laptop. He just saw the problem and said so.
And he is asking for a lot of money to replace
it. I dont know, i am not able to trust him.

Can you guys give me any suggestions
please?
