Acer Aspire 5920-6582 notebook
December 2, 2012 at 04:01:57
Specs: Vista, 2.0ghz 4gig RAM
Replaced screen in dell lnspiron 1525 due to original screen broken, new screen colour is fine but just needs to be brighter, when using FN key to brighten it doesnt get any brighter. Could it be the inverter that is playing up?? In BIOS the screen is set at its maximum brightness.

I tried a couple of other things but in the end I replaced the new screen with the old broken one where I can still see about a third ok. The old screen is definetly better and the brightness control adjust correctly, so it looks like I may have been sent an incompatible screen.

Are u sure the replacement display is same as the broken one?
U wouldn't see any light on the screen if there is a problem with the inverter.
Can u increase screen brightness in BIOS?

I have sent a question to the supplier asking if I have definetly got the correct screen and I can adjust the brightness in BIOS it is set at maximum, When I adjust the setting the brightness is eratic ie I turn brightness up but it may go dull then bright but never to the brightness that I consider enough.

Yes I did change display myself, Ive done a few. Just connected up 2nd display and brightness ok on that.

When I try to adjust brightness level for laptop screen it is erratic, ie while turning brightness up it will go dull then a bit brighter then dulls again. Just never can get the full brightness I expect. thanks
