hi,
I have compaq presario v3000 laptop. It was working fine but few days ago,it suddenly got shut down and on that day onwards whenever i open laptop, monitor doesn't display anything,it just becomes black but all the other functions are run as they are as i can hear the sounds if i click anything .Also i connected another monitor in the display port ,it worked fine but the display i.e resolution was the not same as it was before.
Is there any solution to this problem?

Take the laptop and get some bright sunlight onto the screen and see if you can see a dim image. I know it is counter-intuitive to view a dim image in a bright light but what you are trying to do is replace the back-light with sunlight.

If a dim image is discernible it is an indication that the back light has failed or more likely the converter that powers it. If this is the case then it is a relatively easy thing for a technician to fix.
