hi I have a hp pavillion DV9220ca laptop .. my problem is when it boots up the monitor has power but no picture at all .... but when i plug in my desktop monitor into it i can see everything it is doin .. but only in 4 bit display .. it has geforce go 7600 and intel onboard . when i go to display settings it only shows one monitor and that would be onboard .. where my desktop monitor is plugged in . no option to install another .. and when i run auto search it finds nothing . i noticed the side of the montior has a lock hole was wondering if that is to lock it shut or might have something to do with the issue .. i have installed every driver and firmware i can find .. still nothin .. pleae help someone

The monitor on your laptop is broken. Take it into a shop that'll work on laptops, buy a new laptop, leave it plugged into a working monitor, or some combination thereof.

Have you already tried to reset the BIOS settings to factory defaults?
If so, did you not even get the BIOS screen on the laptop monitor?

no i didn't get bios on monitor screen at all ... and ya i did reset bios to factory ... i think ... hmmmm maybe i should go doit again just to make sure i did ... got me thinkin i did so many things last night lol
